Independence Day, observed annually on 15 August, is a National Holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the British Empire on 15 August 1947.This was the 68th Independence Day of India where Hon’ble Prime Minister of India hoisted the Indian Flag on 15th of August and so, did we have the Independence Day Celebration in our office.

To make it perfectly clear, this was a small pour in of all my colleagues on 14th August,2014 owing to a holiday next day, were as always something fun & unique was happening in our not-so-corporate corporate headquarters.

I was lucky enough to be a part of the celebration and moreover getting a chance to organize the gathering. Organizing the “you can call it a small event” was never a problem and specifically when it comes to organizing with my team mate Neil.

So both of us decided that we would plan some games for our colleagues, where they can enjoy and get independence from their daily routine to honor the Independence Day.

We planned on playing games like Hamburger and Pepsi Pong and enjoy it with yummy Burgers, French Fries and Coke.

Wondering what is Pepsi Pong? You all must have heard of Beer Pong-and to give it a little Indian spice to it, we had a 4 teams and it was a one on one game where the member of the team will try put the ball in the glass and failing to do so will eat a chilly and then have Pepsi.

Another ball game was Hamburgers where people had to assemble the ingredients of the burger in the right order while coordinating with the teams.

Furthermore, to keep up the interest we had kept prizes for the winning teams and the theme of day was Indian Tricolor.

Concluding it, I can say it was a knowledgeable experience for my colleagues as they could learn time management and I could get an experience on enhancing my management skills and coordinating within the team to make it a playful day.
